The main preventive action to proper oral hygiene is the constant cleaning and flossing your teeth. And 'in fact a good idea to brush your teeth at least three times a day after meals to remove food debris and plaque that is deposited on the surface of teeth and gums.
The brushing technique should take into account the patient's age and the periodontal situation.
In any case, to have a bright and healthy smile is important to brush your teeth properly to remove plaque and prevent trauma to the gums.
The toothbrush is the main tool for oral hygiene, it is therefore essential to choose well. A good brush should have the straight handle, a head of an appropriate size, easy to reach every part of the mouth, consisting of synthetic bristles with rounded tips.
For proper oral hygiene toothbrush goes always moved in a direction perpendicular to the gingiva and always from the gum towards the tooth. Therefore, to clean the upper teeth the movement of the toothbrush must take place from the top down, with an inclination of 45 degrees, to remove plaque from the gingival under the collar.
To clean the lower arch, however, the correct movement is from the bottom upwards.
This operation must be repeated both on the outside of the teeth and on the inner, which is often overlooked because of more difficult access.
Cleaning the occlusal posterior teeth brushing should be performed from the back to the front and back and only then with a lateral movement.
It must also not be neglected cleaning the tongue that is brushed gently, preferably with special instruments to remove food debris and above all the microorganisms that lurk on the tongue and are often responsible for bad breath.

- Brush your teeth three times a day and floss daily
- Eat a balanced diet and avoid snacking between meals
- Use products that contain fluoride, including toothpaste
- Do rinses with mouthwash with fluoride.
