Foille scaldature cream what is it for?

Therapeutic indications

This cream / ointment thanks to its components effectively acts on minor burns, sunburn, skin irritations from various chemical-physical agents, insect bites, also in the dressing of abrasions, abrasions and superficial wounds of the skin.

How to apply foille sunburn cream?

In a very simple way, just apply a light layer of ointment on the area affected by the scalding, gently massage until absorbed and you're done.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the active substances or to any of the excipients. The product is not suitable for ophthalmic use.

dosage

Apply the cream, in a thin and uniform layer directly on the lesion. In case of circumscribed lesions, it is advisable - after applying the cream - to cover with sterile gauze. The dressing should not be removed for at least 48 hours, in order not to disturb the granulation process. In some cases the initial dressing should not be removed and changed for longer periods of time, however, having to keep it well moistened with FOILLE SCOTTATURE. It is recommended not to exceed the maximum limit of 4 applications per day, both in adults and children.

Warnings and precautions

FOILLE SCOTTATURE is for external use only. The use, especially if prolonged, of the product can give rise to sensitization phenomena. The efficacy and safety of benzocaine depend on a correct dosage. Therefore it is necessary to use the minimum quantity of product sufficient to obtain the desired effect, applying it with caution to those with severely damaged mucous membranes and site of inflammatory processes that could cause an excessive absorption of this active principle. FOILLE SCOTTATURE should only be used on non-extensive and superficial skin lesions and for short periods of time. Do not apply near the eyes. In case of deep wounds, or of stings of disseminated insects, or severe burns, or particularly severe light burns, always consult your doctor before using the product. If the morbid condition for which this preparation is used persists longer, if irritation occurs, if the redness, swelling or pain persist or if you have an infection, discontinue use and consult your doctor. Do not use the product in children under the age of 6 months; it is recommended to administer it only after consulting your doctor between 6 months and 2 years of age.

Possible side effects resulting from the application of this ointment.

The use of products for topical application, especially if prolonged, can give rise to sensitization phenomena. In this case, stop the treatment and institute a suitable therapy. A high absorption of benzocaine can rarely cause serious reactions (increase in methaemoglobin, with the appearance of cyanosis), particularly in children and the elderly, which require timely hospital intervention.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

There are no known contraindications for use in case of pregnancy or breastfeeding. However, it is advisable to consult your doctor before taking the medicine during pregnancy and lactation.

1. WHAT IS FOILLE SCOTTATURE AND WHAT YOU NEED
Foille Sole is a medicine to be used on the skin, which contains benzocaine (capable of relieving pain, burning and itching on the skin), benzyl alcohol (with disinfectant and calming action) and chloroxylenol (with disinfectant action)
Foille Scottature is used:
in case of redness of the skin due to excessive and prolonged exposure to the sun (sunburn), small burns, irritation on the skin by various chemical-physical agents, insect bites;
in the dressing of superficial lesions (abrasions and abrasions) and superficial wounds of the skin. Talk to your doctor if you do not feel better or if you feel worse after a short period of transplantation.
2. WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW BEFORE USING FOIL SCOTTED
Do not use Foille Scald
- if you are allergic to benzyl alcohol, benzocaine, chloroxylenol or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6);
This medicinal product should not be applied to the eyes.
Warnings and precautions
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using Foille Scalds. Foille Scottature should only be used on the skin (for external use), on superficial lesions not extended and for a short period of time. In the following cases, always use this medicine only after consulting your doctor:
if it has deep or severe wounds, numerous insect bites,
when a bubble is formed with liquid or the skin surface burnt (severe burns) or mild burns particularly extensive;
in children between 6 months and 2 years of age (see "Children");
if you are pregnant or breastfeeding (see "Pregnancy and breast-feeding").
Avoid contact with eyes
The efficacy and safety of benzocaine depends on the correct dosage, therefore it must employ the minimum quantity of medicine sufficient to obtain the improvement of pain. Apply Foille Scalds with caution if you have severely damaged mucous membranes or in the presence of redness (inflammation), in order to avoid excessive absorption in the body of benzocaine. Avoid prolonged use of Foille Scalds, especially on large surfaces. The use, especially if prolonged, of medicines on the skin (products for topical use) can give rise to irritation or allergy (sensitization). In this case, stop the treatment and consult your doctor in order to receive a suitable therapy. If the lesion does not improve after a few days, if redness, pain or swelling worsen or if infection appears, stop using the medicine and contact your doctor immediately. Consult the doctor even in cases where these disorders have occurred in the past.
children
Foille Scottature should not be used in children younger than 6 months. In children between 6 months and 2 years of age, use this medicine only after consulting your doctor (see "Warnings and precautions").
Other medicines and Foille Scalds
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are using, have recently used or might use any other medicines. No disturbances (interactions) related to the association between Foille Scaldature and other medicines are known.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
If you are pregnant, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, or if you are breast-feeding, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine. During pregnancy and lactation, use Foille Scald only after consulting your doctor.
Driving and using machines
Foille Scottature has no effect on the ability to drive and use machines.
3. HOW TO USE SCOTTED FOILLE
Always use this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist have told you. If you are not sure, talk to your doctor or pharmacist. The recommended dose in both adults and children is up to a maximum of 4 applications per day.
Warning: do not exceed the indicated doses. Apply a light and even layer of cream directly onto the lesion. In case of small lesions following the application of the cream, cover the lesion with sterile gauze. If you are using sterile gauze, do not remove the dressing before 48 hours so as not to interfere with healing. You can not remove the sterile gauze even for a few days: in this case keep the dressing moist by applying Foille Scottature directly on the sterile gauze. If you do not see improvement after a short treatment, talk to your doctor. Also consult your doctor if the disorder occurs repeatedly or if you notice any recent change in its characteristics (see "Warnings and precautions").
If you use more Foille Scalds than you should
In case of accidental ingestion / intake of an overdose of Foille Scottature, notify your doctor immediately or contact your nearest hospital. Excessive absorption of benzocaine into the body, particularly in children and the elderly, can rarely result in a bluish discoloration of the skin and mucous membranes (cyanosis), in which case it should be referred to the nearest hospital (see "Possible side effects"). If you have any further questions on the use of this medicine, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
4. POSSIBLE UNDESIRED EFFECTS
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. The use of Foille Scottature, especially if protracted, can give rise to allergy (sensitization) phenomena, with the appearance of redness and itching. In this case, stop the treatment and talk to your doctor to receive appropriate therapy. Rarely, a high absorption of benzocaine can cause, especially in children and the elderly, the appearance of cyanosis, or a bluish color particularly evident on the lips and fingers. In this case, contact the nearest hospital. Compliance with the instructions contained in the package leaflet reduces the risk of undesirable effects.

5. HOW TO STORE SCOTTED FOILLE
Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children. Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the pack. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month. Store at temperatures below 25 ° C. Do not throw away any medicines via wastewater or household waste. Ask the pharmacist how to eliminate the medicines you no longer use. This will help protect the environment.
6. CONTENT OF THE PACKAGE AND OTHER INFORMATION
What Foille Scald contains
- The active ingredients are benzyl alcohol, benzocaine and chloroxylenol. 100 g of cream contain 4 g of benzyl alcohol, 5 g of benzocaine and 0.1 g of chloroxylenol.
- The other components are: hydrogenated vegetable oil, solid paraffin, yellow beeswax, monodiglycerides of higher fatty acids, corn oil, calcium hydrate, sodium borate, PEG 32, sodium lauryl sulfate, maleic anhydride, eugenol, sodium calcium EDTA, 8 -hydroxyquinoline, purified water.
