Water Injectable Preparations SALF

Active principles

Sterile and non-pyrogenic water for injections. Examined in optimal conditions of visibility, it is clear, colorless and free from suspended particles. It must not contain antimicrobial agents or other additives.

Excipients

The water for injections should not contain antimicrobial agents or other additives.

Contraindications

Water for injectable preparations represents the vehicle for various drugs, therefore for contraindications, please refer to section 4.3 of the Summary of Product Characteristics for the drug to be administered.

Dosage

Use for extemporaneous solutions, dilutions or suspensions of injectable medicaments or other sterile preparations. Choose the volume to be used based on the dilution needs of the injectable preparation.

Warnings and Precautions

Use immediately after opening the container. The solution should be clear, colorless and free from visible particles. Any residue cannot be used. Continuous administration can cause water overload, congestive state and decreased electrolyte concentration; continuous administration without the addition of potassium may cause hypokalaemia.

Side effects
