Alkaest is an Italian laboratory where various Spagyric Quintessences are made with alcohol, essential oil, and mineral salts.

The alcohol is of endogenous production, obtained by fermentation of the single vegetable taken into consideration . This alcohol does not have the common characteristics of pharmaceutical alcohol. In fact it is the result of the maximum disintegration that matter can reach in its decomposition and was therefore called by the alchemists "Spirit" of that vegetable (while the vinegar, or rather: acetic acid, was "the Corruption of said Spirit") .

The essential oil is extracted by cold pressing or in a current of steam (according to the processed vegetable) and subsequently purified on the ashes of the plant itself.

A quantity of bioavailable elements ( Soluble Mineral Salts ) are extracted from the ashes of the plant and are integrated into the remedy during processing.
