Allergodil 0.05% Meda eye drops
ALLERGODIL® 0.05% Eye drops 6 ml. is a treatment indicated to reduce ocular inflammation. It is used as a preventive treatment of eye disorders caused by hay fever (seasonal allergic conjunctivitis), in adults and children aged 4 years and over, or for eye disorders caused by allergy to substances such as mites, dust or animal hair (conjunctivitis allergic perennial), in adults and children from 12 years of age onwards.
Formulated with:
• Azelastine: active ingredient with antihistamine action, it acts by preventing the effects of substances such as histamine that the body produces as a result of an allergic reaction.
How to use
Before proceeding with the use of the preparation it is advisable to wash your hands thoroughly.
1. Gently wipe the area around the eyes with a tissue to remove moisture.
2. Unscrew the cap and check that the dropper is clean.
3. Very gently lower the lower lid of the eye to be treated with a finger.
4. Carefully insert the drop into the eye, in the center of the lower lid.
5. Release the lower lid and gently press the inner corner of the eye against the bridge of the nose. Keeping your finger pressed against your nose, blink a couple of times so that the drop spreads over the entire surface of the eye.
6. Wipe off any excess medicine with a tissue.
7. Repeat the process in the other eye.
Eye disorders caused by hay fever (seasonal allergic conjunctivitis): use in children aged 4 years and over, the recommended dose is one drop each eye in the morning and in the evening.
If you plan to come into contact with pollen, you can take the usual dose of the product as a preventative measure.
Eye disorders caused by an allergy (non-seasonal allergic conjunctivitis): use in children aged 12 and over, the recommended dose is one drop each eye in the morning and in the evening.
Warnings
Do not use the medicine in case of allergy to Azelastine Hydrochloride or to any of the excipients of the preparation.
Before taking this medicine ask your doctor for advice if you are not sure that the eye disorder is caused by an allergy. Specifically, if the disorder occurs only in one eye, if vision is impaired, and if the eye burns but there is no nose symptom, it is likely that there is an infection and not an allergy.
The preparation contains Benzalkonium Chloride, a component that alters the color of soft contact lenses, it is therefore advisable to avoid contact with contact lenses. It is necessary to remove contact lenses before applying and wait at least 15 minutes before putting them back on.
If you are pregnant, real or suspected, it is advisable to ask your doctor for advice before using the medicine.
Pay attention to the effect given by the administration of the preparation, you may experience a transient blurred vision, if this happens, do not drive or operate machinery until the vision is clear again.
Composition for 1 drop:
Active ingredient: Azelastine hydrochloride 0.05% (0.5 mg / ml.) 0.015 mg. Excipients: Benzalkonium Chloride (E210), Disodium Edetate, Hypromellose, Liquid Sorbitol (uncrystallized (E420i)), Sodium Hydroxide (E524) and Water for injections.
