AQUACEL® AG FOAM

AQUACEL ™ Ag Foam is a multi-layered aseptic dressing in hydrocellular polyurethane foam with a honeycomb structure, composed of an external polyurethane film and a thin layer of Hydrofiber® Technology in contact with the wound bed, with 1.2% by weight of silver ions.

The layer of Hydrofiber® Technology in direct contact with the wound bed allows AQUACEL ™ Ag Foam to actively interact with the wound, vertically absorbing the exudate, retaining it and instantly forming a soft gel, which maintains the optimal moist environment and promotes healing by reducing the risk of maceration of the periwound skin. The conformability of the gel to the wound bed avoids the presence of empty spaces responsible for bacterial proliferation.

The presence of ionic silver guarantees to the dressing a broad spectrum, rapid and long-lasting antimicrobial activity, without being cytotoxic and irritating.
The breathable external film favors the permeability of vapors and gases but at the same time creates an impermeable barrier to fluids and bacteria, protecting the lesion from external contamination.

AQUACEL ™ Ag Foam is the only dressing that offers the comfort of a foam, the benefits of Hydrofiber® Technology and an antibacterial action at the same time.

AQUACEL ™ Ag Foam is available in adhesive and non-adhesive format.

AQUACEL ™ Ag Foam adhesive format has a silicone adhesive edge which is extremely gentle to removal, thin and repositionable.
