Biatain Super

CE medical device, class III, single use.
Adhesive hydrocapillary dressing. It does not contain phthalates.
Sterile super-absorbent adhesive dressing for medium to highly exuding wounds composed of a highly absorbent hydrocapillary pad, delimited by a hydrocolloid adhesive which, in addition to fixing the dressing to the periwound skin, prevents maceration.
The swab also has a non-adherent polyethylene (HDPE) crosslinker as an interface with the wound bed. HDPE works to maintain the correct moisture degree of the wound (moist but not wet) and prevents adhesion between the dressing surface and the wound bed.
The hydrocapillary buffer is composed of polyethylene, cellulose fibers (CMC) and SAP (Super Absorbent Particles in sodium polyacrylate polymers). The “hydrocapillary” effect is given by the instantaneous, vertical and horizontal absorption of the exudate. In fact, the cellulose and SAP polymers, in contact with the exudate released by the lesion, change phase by gelling, in order to retain the exudate inside the tampon even under compression.
The external layer in polyurethane film with high oxygen permeability, creates a barrier against exogenous bacteria and external pollutants and ensures high breathability.

Indications
Acute and chronic skin lesions, medium to highly exuding.
Average residence time (medium to highly exuding wounds and ulcers): 3 days.
Maximum time spent on site: 7 days.

Contraindications and incompatibility
In case of allergic reactions, please contact Coloplast for information on components. Biatain dressings and secondary dressings must be removed before radioactive treatment (X-rays, ultrasound treatment, diathermy and microwave). Do not use Biatain dressings with oxidizing solutions such as hypochlorite and hydrogen peroxide.

Composition
Cellulose fibers (CMC), siliconized polyethylene terephthalate (HDPE), disodium polyacrylate, thermoplastic elastomer, dioctyl adipate (DOA), hypoallergenic hydrocolloid layer, microporous layer in TNT, back made of polyurethane film.

Sterilization
Biatain Super Adhesive Hydrocapillary Dressing is sterilized with beta rays, at a minimum dose of 2.5 Mrad. The lot number and the expiry date appear on each package.

Validity
3 years from the date of manufacture.

Product storage
The products must be stored horizontally, at room temperature (25 ° C).

Disposal
The product does not contain Ecotoxic components therefore it does not require particular disposal protocols. Do not dispose of in the environment as it is not Biodegradable.
