Single-dose eye drops
Composition:
100 ml of solution contain: Active ingredient: Sodium cromoglycate 2 g For excipients see. section 6.1.
Excipients
Sodium chloride (isotonizing), purified water.
Therapeutic indications
Preventive treatment of ocular allergic forms such as allergic conjunctivitis and spring keratoconjunctivitis.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to cromolyn sodium.
Dosage
Instill one or two drops of the eye drops into the lower conjunctival sac of each eye 4 times a day. Whenever possible, treatment should be started before exposure to the allergic stimulus and continued regularly throughout the exposure period or in any case until the symptoms are resolved. Method of administration: Each container contains a quantity of eye drops sufficient for one treatment of both eyes. Open the sachet. Carefully detach a single-dose container. Carefully close the sachet containing the remaining single-dose containers by folding the flaps on the open side. Open the single-dose container by rotating the flat top. Instill the solution in the eyes and discard the container after use.
Warnings and Precautions
Avoid touching the eye with the spout of the container. The eye drops are presented in sterile single-dose containers and do not contain preservatives; therefore it can also be used by patients with contact lenses. Any microflacons must be discarded after use.
Interactions
There are no known interactions with other medicaments. In the case of concomitant treatment with other eye drops, leave a 15-minute interval between instillations of the two different drugs.
Side effects
Instillation of the eye drops can sometimes cause transient burning and / or itching locally.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
Administration during the first trimester of pregnancy should be limited to cases of actual need. Animal studies have shown that cromolyn sodium is hardly found in breast milk. No undesirable effects on breastfed infants are reported in the scientific literature.
