Glycerol Carlo Erba Early childhood what it is for
Glycerol, the active ingredient in this medicine, is used to facilitate the elimination of faeces. The laxative effect is obtained thanks to the ability of glycerol to soften the stool and to cause a slight local irritant action that stimulates bowel movements.
This medicine is indicated for the symptomatic relief of occasional and transient constipation. Talk to your doctor if you do not feel better or if you feel worse after a short period of treatment.

Glycerol Carlo Erba contains: Active ingredient: Glycerol 900 mg
Excipients: Sodium stearate - Sodium carbonate.
Dosage and method of use of Glycerol Carlo Erba Early childhood
Glycerol Carlo Erba is administered according to the following doses

Children aged 1 month to 2 years: 1 early childhood suppository as needed, for a maximum of 1 or 2 doses per day
Remove the suppository from its container and then, if necessary, moisten it to facilitate its rectal introduction. If the suppositories appear soft, immerse the containers, before opening them, in cold water.
Contraindications with the use of Glycerol Carlo Erba Early childhood
- Hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients.
- Acute abdominal pain or of unknown origin,
- Nausea or vomiting
- Intestinal obstruction or stricture
- Rectal bleeding of unknown origin
- Acute hemorrhoidal crisis with pain and bleeding
- Severe state of dehydration.

Laxatives should be used as infrequently as possible and for no more than seven days. Use for longer periods of time requires a doctor's prescription after adequate evaluation of the individual case.
