Active principles
100 g of cream contain: Active ingredient: 1 g clotrimazole. Excipients: cetostearyl alcohol. For the full list of excipients, see section 6.1
Excipients
Sorbitan monostearate, polysorbate 60, cetyl palmitate, cetostearyl alcohol , octyldodecanol, benzyl alcohol, purified water.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients.
Dosage
CLOTRIMAZOLO FARMAKOPEA should be applied in small quantities two to three times a day in correspondence with the affected area, rubbing lightly, after having carefully washed and dried the part. Half a cm of cream is enough to treat a surface the size of a hand. CLOTRIMAZOLE FARMAKOPEA 1% cream is electively indicated for the treatment of hairless skin areas (hairless). Generally, for the disappearance of the manifestations, a treatment period without interruption of three to four weeks is sufficient. In order to consolidate the therapeutic results obtained and avoid reinfection, it is advisable to continue therapy with Clotrimazole for at least two weeks after the disappearance of the manifestations. To avoid relapses, very common in mycosis, it is good to inform the patient that he must observe some elementary hygiene rules: frequent change of underwear, towels and their chemical or thermal disinfection; avoid promiscuity of clothes and linen.

Warnings and Precautions
Avoid contact with eyes. Do not swallow. The use, especially if prolonged, of products for topical use can give rise to sensitization phenomena. In this case, it is necessary to stop the treatment and consult your doctor or pharmacist. In diaper dermatitis, the use of diapers with an “occlusive” effect is not recommended after applying the cream. The patient should be informed to consult the doctor in case of relapses and when the medicinal product has not given appreciable results after three to four weeks of use. CLOTRIMAZOLE FARMAKOPEA 1% cream contains cetostearyl alcohol which can cause local skin reactions (eg contact dermatitis).

Side effects
The adverse reactions listed below are derived from spontaneous reports and therefore an organization by frequency categories is not possible. Immune system disorders: allergic reaction (syncope, hypotension, dyspnoea, urticaria). Skin and subcutaneous tissue disorders: blisters, discomfort / pain, edema, irritation, peeling, itching, rash, burning.

Not relevant.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
Although no controlled clinical studies have been performed in pregnant women, epidemiological investigations indicate the absence of harmful effects of clotrimazole treatment on mother and baby. However, as for all medicines, in the first trimester of pregnancy the product should be administered only in case of real need and under the direct supervision of the doctor.
