Description
Aerosol spacer used in combination with spray inhalers or metered dose inhalers in the treatment of respiratory tract diseases.
The spacer is a containment chamber that facilitates inhalation from a metered dose inhaler. Only drugs approved for inhalation treatment should be used. Take note of any restrictions in the instructions for use of the medicine in question.
To ensure adequate treatment, only use DALU accessories.
The spacer can be used with the following masks:
- DALU baby mask (for children under 2 years old),
- DALU children's mask (for children aged between 2 and 4 years),
- DALU adult mask (for children aged from 4 years to adulthood, unable to inhale using a mouthpiece).

Instructions for use
Inhalation: insert the mask onto the mouthpiece of the Spacer (if using a mask).
Take out the MDI and shake the medicinal product.
Insert the MDI into the connector.
Try to exhale and hold the mask against your face, press the MDI and inhale slowly. If there is no mask, place your lips around the mouthpiece, press MDI and inhale slowly. Slow your inhalation if you hear a beep. Hold your breath for 8-10 seconds.
Children under 18 months of age should inhale four to six times; children over 18 months of age should inhale deeply two to four times. Otherwise, an insufficient dosage may be delivered. For adults, one breath is sufficient to inhale the medication from the spacer.
- Remove the spacer and exhale.
- The doctor will ask you to take the medicine for more than one spray; rest a minute, then repeat steps 4 and 5.
Cleaning:
regularly clean all product components and accessories used, if visibly dirty after use.
- Remove the support piece and dismantle the other components of the spacer.
- Immerse both pieces in warm water with liquid detergent for 15 minutes. Shake gently.
- Rinse with running water.
- Remove excess water. Do not rub to dry.
- Leave to air dry in an upright position.
- Replace the support piece when the unit is completely dry and ready for use.
Preparation:
- remove the measured dosage inhaler from the connection ring on the inhalation chamber then close it with the protective cap supplied for this purpose;
- if necessary, detach the mask from the mouthpiece;
- disconnect the mouthpiece from the inhalation chamber (if necessary).
Warnings
If you use a mask, make sure it completely covers both corners of your mouth and nose. Otherwise, the treatment may be less efficient due to aerosol leakage, for example due to underdosing. For possible side effects due to aerosol leakage, read the instructions for use of the medicine in question.
