Diarrheal states due to the use of antibiotics, traveler's diarrhea and intestinal flu

Berberis , rich in berberine, is very active in the treatment of acute diarrhea. Its efficacy appears to be due to a combination of its direct antimicrobial activity, the inhibitory action against microbial adhesion to mucous membranes and the blocking effect of the activity of toxins produced by various pathogenic bacteria. Its toxin-blocking effect is evident in enterotoxin diarrhea (particularly E. Coli, responsible for traveler's diarrhea).

Ratania has always been used for its astringent and antidiarrheal properties. It is also used as an antidiarrheal in the treatment of enterocolitis and colitis.

Chamomile has always been known as a plant with antispasmodic activity particularly suitable for calming painful manifestations, from intestinal colic to dysmenorrhea, it has undoubted anti-inflammatory, healing and ulceroprotective, antibacterial and spasmolytic properties. As a spasmolytic and carminative it is indicated in digestive colic (colitis, meteorism ...) and in case of alteration of the bacterial flora, for example after antibiotic therapy, as it helps to reconstitute it.

The dried fruit of Blueberry , thanks to the tannin content, is a mild astringent, with antimicrobial and adsorbent properties, useful in diarrheal forms, even in children and the elderly. Recently it has been reported that the fruits contain substances (anti-adhesives) capable of inhibiting the adhesion of the colibacillus in the intestine, confirming its traditional use in the treatment of enteritis.

Supplementing with L. acidophilus is particularly important for treating and preventing diarrhea, Candida proliferation and antibiotic-induced urinary tract infections. L. acidophilus has been shown to counterbalance the increase in Gram negat bacteria. observed after administration of broad spectrum antibiotics, as occurs in acute or chronic diarrhea. A mixture of B. bifidum and L. acidophilus inhibits the reduction of the fecal flora induced by ampicillin and maintains the balance of the intestinal ecosystem.

Lavender essential oil is useful in case of diarrheal states and intestinal spasms.

Cinnamon essential oil has antidiarrheal activity.

Carnation essential oil has antidiarrheal, anti-infectious, anti-fermentative, antiseptic and antispasmodic activities

Berberis bark es 3: 1 25%, Tormentilla rhizome es 3: 1 20%, Ratania root es 3: 1 20%, Chamomile flowers es 3: 1 15%, Blueberry fruit es 3: 1 7%, Lactobacillus acidophilus PBS066 150 x 109 3%, Bifidobacterium bifidum SGB02 50 x 109 2%. Aromas of: Lavender 1%, Carnation 1%, Cinnamon 1%.

METHOD OF USE:

Tablets: 1 tablet of 500 mg, up to 4 times a day.

CONTRAINDICATIONS:

Hypersensitivity to the individual components. Administration is contraindicated in pregnancy and lactation.
