Ecodergin Vaginal Cream is a Farmitalia drug.

Active principles

Vaginal cream 100 g of cream contain: Active ingredient: econazole nitrate 1.00 g. 150 mg vaginal pessaries Each vaginal pessary contains: Active ingredient: 150 mg econazole nitrate.

Excipients

Vaginal cream Palmitostearate of ethylene glycol and polyoxyethylene glycol; isopropyl myristate; polycarbophil; dimethicone; methyl p – oxybenzoate; propyl p-oxybenzoate; purified water. Vaginal pessaries Polycarbofil; mixture of mono – di – glycerides of fatty acids.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to components or other related substances from a chemical point of view.

Dosage

Vaginal cream : Introduce an applicator filled with vaginal cream (5cc) deep into the vagina for 15 days each night before bed, preferably in the supine position. The treatment must be continued even after the disappearance of the subjective disorders (itching, leucorrhoea). Treatment in the partner : the cream is applied once a day for 15 consecutive days after washing the glans and foreskin with warm water. 150 mg vaginal pessaries: Introduce a 150 mg vaginal pessary into the vagina, preferably in the supine position, every night before bedtime for 3 consecutive days. In case of relapse or if the control is positive one week after treatment, a second course of therapy will be repeated.

Warnings and Precautions

Ecodergin vaginal cream and vaginal suppositories are intended for external use. In case of accidental ingestion, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea may occur and should be treated with symptomatic therapy. In children, the drug should be used only in case of real need and under the direct supervision of the doctor. Avoid contact with eyes.

Interactions

Clinical trials and widespread use in therapy have so far revealed no interactions with other drugs.

Side effects

Vaginal burning and irritation, pelvic cramps, skin rashes and headaches have been reported with medications of this type at the time of treatment. In these cases it is necessary to suspend the treatment and institute a suitable therapy.

Overdose

The methods of application and the particularity of the pharmaceutical forms make overdose extremely unlikely, the effects of which are in any case local and of an irritative nature, to be treated symptomatologically. In case of accidental ingestion, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea may occur and should be treated with symptomatic therapy.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

During pregnancy and lactation, the product should be used only in case of real need under the direct supervision of the doctor.
