Recommendations for use
Corn starch is obtained from the processing of corn kernels. It has a strong binding power and is an important and healthy source of complex carbohydrates for the body. Corn starch is used to thicken soups, sauces, creams, puddings or ice creams, and to make leavened desserts more crumbly. It can replace wheat flour for the preparation of foods for people intolerant to gluten. For this purpose it can be used alone or, more commonly, mixed with rice flour or potato starch. It can also be mixed with Farabella flours and preparations to increase the friability of the products obtained.
