Pine is the Bach Flower corresponding to those who blame themselves for the mistakes they attribute to themselves, often also for those of others, and even when the results are positive they feel that they have not worked hard enough or that they could have done better. By nature, the Pine type is inclined to shoulder the burden of any situation that involves him. We can say that Responsibility is its innate resource. This attitude, however, stems from the belief of never having given enough and never having obtained enough. Thus ends up attributing unjustified self-punishment.
Pine therefore invites us to develop the virtue of Forgiveness, namely the ability to act with understanding and indulgence, first of all towards oneself and, subsequently, towards others. In fact, what makes Pine really functional is his ability to equally evaluate responsibilities (his own and others) and to forgive (himself and others) his own human limitations which are not a mistake but a normal way of learning.
