COMPRESSION CLASSES

Cotton 162 compression class 1 (18-21 mmHg): Prophylaxis of venous diseases in patients at risk, functional disorders such as heaviness and a sense of fatigue in the legs, initial varicose veins in pregnancy, thrombosis and embolism prophylaxis.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

Absolute contraindications: Infectious dermatitis, dermo-hypodermatitis in the acute phase, dermatosis with active ulcers or sores. Arteriopathies with pressure index (ABI or IW) ≤ 0.55 (unless otherwise indicated by the doctor), Severe neuropathies, Extrinsic compressions on venous vessels (Baker's cyst of the popliteal cavity, lymphadenopathies, etc.), Decompensated heart failure, Septic phlebitis, Ischemic thrombosis (Phlegmasia coerulea dolens and Phlegmasia alba). Rheumatic fibromyalgia or in general any form of intolerance to prolonged pressure on the skin surface.

Relative contraindications: Loss of sensation in the limbs (unless otherwise indicated by the doctor), intolerance to the materials of graduated compression stockings, advanced peripheral neuropathy (eg diabetes mellitus), chronic primary polyarthritis.
