Ichthyol Ointment Almus 10% - Ictammolo

Ichthyol ointment what it is for

It is used in the case of inflammations and small skin infections. In the case of furunculosis (pimples), abscesses, and superficial ulcerations of the skin, but also inflammation of the sweat glands (hidradenitis).

Composition

100 g of ointment contain Active ingredient: ammonium sulphichthyolate 10 g. For the complete list of excipients, see par. 6.1.

Excipients

White petroleum jelly.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients.

Dosage and method of use

It is advisable to apply the ointment, in the quantity necessary in relation to the area to be treated, for 2-3 times a day, taking care to cover it with a gauze after application.

Warnings and Precautions

Do not apply near the eyes and on mucous membranes. Avoid exposure to the sun and UVA rays after application. The use, especially if prolonged, of medicines for local use can give rise to phenomena of irritation or sensitization. If this occurs, discontinue treatment.

Insufficient data are available to establish the frequency of the individual effects listed. Skin and subcutaneous tissue disorders: dermatitis, burning, skin irritation, hypersensitivity reactions

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

In the absence of specific studies, the medicine should be used during pregnancy and lactation only in case of need and under direct medical supervision.
