Lencya 30mg Sandoz Emergency Contraceptive

Over-the-counter medicine for emergency contraception after unprotected sexual intercourse

Contraceptive used to prevent pregnancy after unprotected intercourse or contraceptive failure. For example: • if you have had unprotected sex; • if your partner's condom broke, slipped or went out completely, or if you forgot to use a condom; • if you have not taken birth control pills as recommended. You should take the tablet as soon as possible after intercourse, but no later than 5 days (120 hours) after it. The reason for this is that the sperm in your body for up to 5 days after intercourse can survive. This medicine is suitable for all women of childbearing age, including adolescents.

Application

Take one tablet as soon as possible and no more than 5 days (120 hours) after unprotected sex or contraception failure. Do not delay taking tablets.

You can take the tablet at any time during your menstrual cycle. • You can take the tablet at any time of the day and before, during or after a meal. • If you are using any of the medicines that can reduce the effectiveness of Lencya.

Ingrediants

The active ingredient is ulipristal acetate. Each tablet contains 30 milligrams of ulipristal acetate. The other ingredients are: tablet core: lactose monohydrate, pre-gelatinized starch (maize), sodium starch glycolate (type A), magnesium stearate. Contains lactose and sodium. Tablet coating: hypromellose, hydroxypropylcellulose, stearic acid, talc, titanium dioxide (E 171).
