Dosage
MICOMICEN vaginal cream: Unless otherwise prescribed, make an evening application before bedtime with MICOMICEN 1% vaginal cream, following the following instructions: screw one of the disposable applicators into the tube of MICOMICEN 1% vaginal cream and fill it by pressing on the tube; unscrew the applicator filled with cream from the tube and insert it deeply into the vagina, after lying down; keeping the lying position, press on the applicator plunger to introduce the medicine into the vagina. The applicator must not be reused, but discarded after use. To facilitate healing and prevent reinfection, it is advisable to apply the vaginal cream also on the skin of the external genitalia up to the anal region. Treatment should be continued for at least 6-7 days until symptoms disappear. To avoid relapses, however, it is advisable to continue the treatment for a further week. MICOMICEN 100 mg eggs: Unless otherwise prescribed, one egg in the evening before going to bed. Treatment with 100 mg eggs will last for at least 3 days. In case of relapse or if, with the use of eggs, the culture test performed after the first 3 days of treatment is still positive, a second course of therapy must be repeated, up to a maximum of 6 days. MICOMICEN ovules should be introduced as deeply as possible into the vagina, maintaining a supine position. The treatment should not be carried out during the menstrual period. MICOMICEN eggs are colorless and do not dirty the linen.
Warnings and Precautions
In vaginal mycosis, reinfection by the partner is possible (ping-pong effect). It is therefore advisable to carry out a concomitant treatment of the partner with MICOMICEN 1% cream. It is also recommended to refrain from sexual intercourse for the duration of the therapy. Repeated use of the product can give rise to sensitization phenomena. In this case, stop the treatment and institute a suitable therapy.
Interactions
Not reported in the literature, nor found in clinical practice.
Side effects
Slight burning may rarely occur in the first few days of treatment; the possible appearance of sensitization phenomena requires the suspension of the treatment and the adoption of adequate therapeutic measures.
