Fluid Reintegration
Reintegration of fluids and sodium chloride. For solutions with concentrations higher than 0.9%: reintegration of fluids and especially of sodium chloride in conditions of severe sodium depletion.
Dosage
Intravenously. The dose is dependent on age, weight, clinical condition, electrolyte picture and osmolarity, and is related to the calculated sodium deficit. If the concentration is not indicated, add the 0.9% solution.
Side effects
VASCULARS: venous thrombosis or phlebitis. GENERAL: Febrile responses, injection site infections.
Pregnancy
Administer only in case of real need.
Interactions
No Interaction.
Contraindications
In patients with hypernatremia and in hydrosaline plethora.
Composition
100ml contain Sodium chloride 0.9g (Na + 0.154mEq / l, Cl- 0.154mEq / l).
Special precautions
Use immediately after opening the container. The solution should be clear, colorless and free from visible particles. It is used for a single and uninterrupted administration and any residue cannot be used. Use with great caution in patients with congestive heart failure, severe renal insufficiency and in clinical states where there is edema with salt retention; in patients being treated with corticosteroid or corticotropin drugs. Continuous administration without the addition of potassium may cause hypokalaemia. Monitor fluid balance, electrolytes, plasma osmolarity and acid-base balance. In children, safety and efficacy have not been established.
