Composition:

Excipients

MUCOCIS 0.3 g Granules for oral suspension Sodium bicarbonate, citric acid, colloidal silica, orange flavor, lemon flavor, saccharin, sucrose. MUCOCIS Children 20 mg / ml Syrup Sodium benzoate, methyl p-hydroxybenzoate, ethyl p-hydroxybenzoate, propyl p-hydroxybenzoate, sucrose, vanillin, bur-caramel flavor, purified water. MUCOCIS Adults 50 mg / ml Syrup Sodium benzoate, methyl p-hydroxybenzoate, ethyl p-hydroxybenzoate, propyl p-hydroxybenzoate, sucrose, vanillin, bur-caramel flavor, caramel E 150, purified water.

Therapeutic indications

Mucolytic and fluidifying agent in acute and chronic diseases of the respiratory system.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients. Gastro-duodenal ulcers. Pregnancy and lactation (see section 4.6). The drug is contraindicated in children under 2 years of age.

Dosage

MUCOCIS 0.3 g granules for oral suspension Adults: 1 sachet 3-4 times a day. Children: 1 / 2-1 sachet 2 times a day. MUCOCIS Children 20 mg / ml Syrup Children: from 2 to 5 years 1 teaspoon 2-3 times a day; over 5 years 1 teaspoon 3-4 times a day in relation to age. These doses can be increased according to the doctor's prescription. MUCOCIS Adults 50 mg / ml Syrup Adults: 2 or 3 tablespoons per day. These doses can be increased according to the doctor's prescription. Granules for oral suspension: dissolve the recommended doses in a glass containing two fingers of water, mixing with a teaspoon.

Warnings and Precautions

Mucolytics can induce bronchial obstruction in children less than 2 years of age. In fact, the drainage capacity of the bronchial mucus is limited in this age group, due to the physiological characteristics of the respiratory tract. They should therefore not be used in children under 2 years of age (see section 4.3). The product contains sucrose: keep in mind in case of diabetes or low calorie diets. Patients with rare hereditary problems of fructose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption, or sucrase-isomaltase insufficiency should not take this medicine. The product contains methyl para-hydroxybenzoate, ethyl p-hydroxybenzoate, propyl p-hydroxybenzoate, which can cause allergic reactions, usually delayed.

Interactions

At the present state of knowledge they are not known.

Side effects

Dizziness and digestive phenomena such as gastralgia, nausea and diarrhea may occur. In these cases it is necessary to reduce the dosage or interrupt the therapy. In addition, allergic skin rashes and anaphylactic reactions, fixed erythema may occur. In such cases, stop the treatment and consult your doctor to establish a suitable therapy. Bronchial obstruction may occur.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

Although the active substance is neither teratogenic nor mutagenic and has not shown negative effects on reproductive function in animals, no data are available on its use in human pregnancy. Therefore, the use of the medicinal product is contraindicated in pregnancy. Since there are no data on the passage of carbocysteine into breast milk, the use of the medicinal product is contraindicated during breastfeeding.
