Description
Hypotonic solution intended for instillation on the ocular surface or contact lenses, particularly in the presence of "dry eye" symptoms.
Thanks to the high content of sodium hyaluronate (0.4%) and the presence of salts such as magnesium and potassium, Oftaial Plus humidifies and lubricates the ocular surface and reduces the risk of instability of the tear film. Furthermore, the peculiarity of the composition of Oftaial Plus consists in the presence of taurine, the physiologically most abundant amino acid in the tear fluid and in general in all the tissues of the anterior segment of the eye.
Therefore Oftaial Plus, although not having a pharmacological effect, protects the corneal epithelium from possible damage caused by particular conditions that can cause the onset of the so-called "dry eye", such as:
- adverse climatic and environmental conditions such as wind, cold, sun, saltiness, air conditioning, smoke, smog or fine dust
- particular conditions of ophthalmic stress due to the use of contact lenses or prolonged work at video terminals or the microscope.
The lubricating action is also useful when, in particular physical conditions or following the intake of certain drugs, tearing is reduced such as during menopause and during diabetes treatment.
Furthermore, for contact lens wearers, Oftaial Plus allows the lens itself to be lubricated and hydrated to facilitate application or removal, contributing to a feeling of comfort during the day.

Instructions for use
Oftaial Plus should be dosed individually according to your condition and according to the recommendations of your eye doctor.
In general, instill 1-2 drops of the solution into the conjunctival sac of each eye when needed, even several times a day.
For use on contact lenses: instill one drop on each lens upon application or removal. Repeat if necessary, even several times a day.

How Oftaial Plus is applied:
- detach a single vial from the strip
- to open the vial, remove the upper flap by rotating it, taking care to place it on a clean surface so that it can be reused for the subsequent closure of the vial
- instill 1-2 drops of Oftaial Plus into the conjunctival sac of each eye, letting them fall from above
- close the vial by inserting the cap immediately after use.

Composition
100 ml of solution contains: sodium hyaluronate 0.4 g, taurine 0.5 g, sodium chloride, magnesium chloride, potassium chloride, monobasic sodium phosphate, dibasic sodium phosphate, water for injections.

Warnings
Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to the components or other closely chemically related substances.
Oftaial Plus is for external use only.
Oftaial Plus should not be used immediately before the administration of medicinal products for curative purposes, and within ten minutes after the application of any topical pharmacological therapy.
To reduce the risk of contamination during use it is advisable to open the aluminum bag only in case of immediate subsequent use of the product.
Each vial must be used by one person only.
Avoid allowing the tip of the vial to come into direct contact with your fingers, eye, contact lens or any other surface.
Also avoid allowing the tip of the vial to come into contact with dirt or dust.
In rare cases, a slight blurring of vision upon instillation has been observed, which is due to the density of the solution. This feeling, however, disappears very quickly.
In some rare cases, intolerance (burning sensation and/or irritation) may occur, however without consequences and does not require modification of the treatment. However, it is advisable to contact your ophthalmologist if symptoms persist.
Compliance with the instructions contained in the leaflet reduces the risk of side effects.
Do not use the solution after the expiry date indicated on the package.
Keep out of reach of children.

storage
Oftaial Plus must be stored at a temperature between 2°C and 25°C.
Each container is resealable, thus allowing repeated administration of the solution which, however, being free of preservatives, must be used within 24 hours of first opening.
The expiry date refers to the intact and correctly stored product.
Last shelf life from the date of production, in intact packaging: 24 months.
