Method of administration

For skin application only. Remove a pipette from the package. Keep it upright. Tap the narrow part of the pipette ensuring that the contents are in the main part of the pipette. Tear off the top end of the pipette along the pre-marked line. Divide the coat on the animal's back, between the shoulder blades, until the skin is visible. Place the tip of the pipette on the skin and gently press it several times in one or two points until the contents are empty on the skin. Make sure that the product is deposited on the skin. In large dogs, apply the 5 ml pipette at 2-3 points along the line of the back in the caudal direction to prevent the solution from slipping off.

storage

Store the pipettes in the original container to protect them from light. Do not store above +25 degrees C.

Warnings

This veterinary medicinal product is intended for the treatment of ticks and adult fleas. All dogs in the same household must be treated. In case of heavy infestations before treatment, the dog's surroundings should be emptied and treated with a suitable insecticide. Dogs should not bathe or be shampooed starting 48 hours prior to treatment. Immersion of the animal in water or shampooing within 24 hours after treatment may reduce the efficacy of the veterinary medicinal product. However, immersion in water once a week did not negatively affect the efficacy against fleas and ticks. Apply only on the skin surface and on intact skin. This veterinary medicinal product is for external topical application only as a spot-on treatment. Do not administer orally or by any other route. Dogs must be weighed thoroughly before treatment. Take care to avoid the veterinary medicinal product coming into contact with the eyes of the animal. It is important to apply the dose in an area from which the dog cannot lick it and to ensure that animals do not lick each other after treatment. After treatment, ticks detach from the host 24 to 48 hours after infestation; however it may happen that single ticks remain on the animal. For this reason, the possibility of transmission of infectious diseases by ticks cannot be completely excluded. Special precautions for those administering the veterinary medicinal product to animals: As a precautionary measure, people should avoid contact with treated areas of animals and children should not play with treated animals until the application site is dry. It is therefore recommended to treat animals in the evening. Do not allow recently treated pets to sleep in the same bed with their owners, especially children. People with known hypersensitivity to compounds of the phenylpyrazoles class or to any of the excipients should avoid contact with the veterinary medicinal product. Do not allow the contents of the pipette to come into contact with the skin. Wash hands or other exposed body parts after use with soap and water. If the product accidentally gets into the eyes, they must be rinsed thoroughly with water. If eye irritation persists seek medical advice and show the package leaflet or the label to the physician. Do not smoke, eat or drink during application. In case of contact with the product, numbness and irritation of the skin and mucous membranes may occur, which usually resolve spontaneously.

Other precautions

Be careful to avoid over-wetting the dog's coat with the veterinary medicinal product as this can result in a sticky and matted appearance of the coat at the application site. However, should this happen, this effect will disappear within 24 hours after application. The solvent in this product can stain certain materials including leather, fabrics, plastics and smooth surfaces. Allow the application site to dry before allowing contact with these materials. Overdose: Mild neurological symptoms such as mild incoordination and staggering have been observed in some animals treated once a month with a dose of 3 times the maximum recommended dose for six consecutive months. These symptoms disappeared within 3 hours of administration. In one in 8 dogs treated repeatedly with a dose of 5 times the recommended dose, the following transient adverse reactions were observed: tremors (shaking), ataxia (loss of coordination), wheezing and convulsions. These symptoms disappear within 18 hours after application. After an overdose of 10 times the maximum dose, the following adverse reactions have been observed on one occasion: vomiting, anorexia (loss of appetite), weight loss, muscle tremors, convulsions, loss of balance, wheezing. All symptoms disappeared within 48 hours, with the exception of the loss of appetite. Application of an overdose of the veterinary medicinal product may cause a sticky and matted appearance of the coat at the application site for 24 hours. In case of overdose contact your veterinarian. Not relevant. Dogs. None known. However owners are required to consult their veterinarian if they intend to use this product on dogs being treated with other products / medications. The following reactions have been reported on very rare occasions (less than 1 animal in 10,000 animals, including isolated reports).

Skin and application site reactions

Itching (itchy skin), changes in the coat, dermatitis (inflammation of the skin), erythema (redness of the skin), alopecia (loss of hair), discoloration of the coat and a greasy appearance of the coat.

Neurological reactions

Ataxia (loss of coordination) and seizures.

Systemic reactions

Lethargy (sleepiness).

Reactions affecting the digestive tract

Vomiting and diarrhea. These signs are usually transient and disappear within 24 hours of application; if they take longer to disappear, consult your veterinarian. If the animal licks the application site immediately after treatment, a short period of hypersalivation (drooling) may occur. This is not a symptom of intoxication and disappears within minutes without any treatment. Correct application minimizes licking at the application site. The safety of the veterinary medicinal product has not been established in pregnant or lactating bitches, nor in breeding animals, although laboratory studies on animals have not shown the existence of relevant effects on reproduction or fetal development.

Do not use during pregnancy or lactation or carry out a risk / benefit assessment of treatment during pregnancy or lactation.
